 1 c Margarine, room temperature

 1 1/2 c Sugar
 2 c Cake flour or 1 3/4 c all -

Heat oven to 325 deg f.

Lightly grease a 9 x 5 x 3 bread pan.

Beatmargarine until a bowl until smooth, about 30 seconds.

With mixer on lowspeed, gradually add sugar.

Increase speed to high and beat until lightand fluffy.

With mixer on still on high, add eggs, one at a time, beatingwell after each addition.

Add vanilla and salt and beat until very pale incolor and increased in volume.

With a rubber spatula mix in flour, about athird of a cup at a time until smooth.

Scrape batter intoprepared panand bake for 1 hour 1nd 15 minutes or until pick inserted in middle comesout clean.

Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes.

Remove from pan and coolcompletely on wire rack.
