Batata Harra – Spicy Potatoes Recipe

The Lebanese dish of spicy potatoes and cilantro is called batata harra. It is simple to make at home with ingredients you already have in your kitchen and is very well-liked in the Middle East.

 1 Potatoes (large)
 ¾ Garlic cloves
 ¼ cup Coriander (chopped)
  tsp Salt
 Black pepper (to taste)
 ¼ tsp Red chili (powder)
  tbsp Lemon juice
  tbsp Olive oil
 Sunflower oil

Heat the sunflower oil on high and deep fry the potatoes until they are golden in color. Remove them from the oil and place them on a plate with paper towels.

In a pot, fry the crushed garlic in olive oil on medium heat for a few minutes (don’t let them go brown).

Add the chopped coriander to the garlic and mix well.

Reduce the heat to low and put the fried potatoes in the pot. Now gently mix in the salt, black pepper and lemon juice. Then add the red chili powder and mix again.
