Yields1 ServingPrep Time10 minsCook Time1 hr 15 minsTotal Time1 hr 25 mins

This flavorful stew of green peas, potatoes, and carrots is filled with goodness. Excellent with a slice of bread and some feta cheese as a side dish or main course. A typical vegan Greek dish that is vitamin-rich and very healthful.

63 g Minced meat (beef, lean)
 113 g Green peas (frozen)
 ¼ Carrots
 ¼ Onions
 100 g Chopped tomatoes (canned)
 50 g Strained tomatoes
 ¼ tsp Salt
  tsp Black pepper (to taste)
tsp Arabic mixed spice (or All Spice)
  tbsp Sunflower oil
  cup Water
1

Fry the chopped onion in a pot with the sunflower oil until they turn translucent. Keep stirring so they don’t burn.

2

Add the minced meat, black pepper, Arabic mixed spice and some salt and fry until the meat becomes brownish. Keep moving the meat around and separate it into small pieces. You will notice the meat releases water, don’t let it all evaporate.

3

Add the chopped carrots and mix for a minute. Then add the peas and mix for another minute.

4

Add the chopped and strained tomatoes, water and some salt. Mix the ingredients together and let it come to a boil. Lower to medium heat and let simmer until cooked (about 1 hour). If you find the consistency is too thick once cooked, just add water and simmer.
