 1 21oz. can cherry pie filling
 ¼ cup slivered almonds
 1 cup all-purpose flour
 1 cup sugar
 ¾ cup sour cream
 ¾ cup butter, melted
 2 tsp. baking powder
 ¼ tsp. salt
 ¼ tsp. almond extract (optional)
 Cream, if desired

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl, stir together pie filling and almonds, set aside. Spray a 12x8 inch baking pan or 9 inch square pan with no-stick cooking spray. Stir all remaining ingredients together until well-mixed. Spread evenly over bottom of pan. Spoon pie filling mixture on top. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before serving. Serve with whipped cream.

Apple, apricot, blueberry, or peach pie filling may also be used in place of the cherry pie filling for a different variety!
