A custard pie is a dessert pie typically made with milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla flavoring. The filling for a custard pie is usually cooked on the stovetop until thickened, then poured into an unbaked or partially baked pie shell and baked until set.

 2 ea eggs
 ½ ts vanilla
  c sugar
 1 ea pie shell, unbaked
 ½ ts salt
 ¼ ts cinnamon
 2 c whole milk, scalded

Beat eggs slightly.

Add sugar and salt.

Slowly stir in hot scalded milk.

Add vanilla.

Strain mixture into unbaked 8-inch pastry shell.

Sprinkletop with cinnamon.

Bake on lower shelf of hot (425 degree) oven for 25-30minutes, or until custard is firm and knife blade comes out clean.

Letcool at least 15 minutes before cutting.

Serve warm or cold.
