Dutch potatoes, also known as heaven and earth, is a dish consisting of potatoes, carrots, and onions cooked in a sweet and sour sauce.

preheat oven to 425 deg f.
Melt butter in oven in a shallow 2 quart bakingdish.
Add salt, poppy seeds and pepper.
Place potatoes (sliced 1/8 thick)in dish and toss to coat with butter.
Bake 30 minutes, tossing twiceduring baking.
Meanwhile, toss apple slices (slice apples 1/4 thick) inlemon juice and set aside.
Add apples to potatoes and toss to mix.
Bakefor 10 minutes or until apples are tender.
Serve hot.
Dust with cinnamon,if desired and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
Serve as a side dish withpork chops or chicken.
