There are many recipes for hot buttered rum, but they all generally include butter, sugar, rum, and spices. Some recipes also include milk or cream.
In a 2-cup measure stir together the brown sugar, butter or margarine,cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Stir in the warm water.
Micro-cook, uncovered.

Stir in the rum.
Serve in mugs.
