Heat oven to 375 deg f.
Combine peanut butter, shortening, sugar, milk andvanilla in a mixing bowl.
Beat until creamy.
Add egg, beat until justblended.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreasedbaking sheets.
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until firm.
Cool two minutes onbaking sheet, then remove to wire rack and cool completely.
