Polish Stew Recipe

There are many different recipes for Polish stew, but most include beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions cooked in a tomato-based broth.

 1 lb Polish sausage, cut 1/2
 1 c white wine
 3 tb oil
 1 cn (8 oz) tomato sauce
 1 1/2 lb beef, cubed
 2 ts soy sauce
 2 ea onions, sliced
 1 ts caraway seeds
 2 c mushrooms, sliced
 ¼ ts vegetable seasoning
 1 lb sauerkraut, canned

Saute sausage 15 minutes; remove to casserole.

Add oil to sausagedrippings; brown beef in oil, 15 minutes; remove to casserole.

Sauteonion; add to casserole.

Saute mushrooms with sauerkraut and wine.

Add tomato sauce, soy sauce, caraway seeds and vegetable seasoning.

Add this to casserole also, mixing well.

Cover and bake at 375degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Stir casserole every 30 minutes.
