Quick Wheat Bread Recipe

 1 1/2 c Whole wheat flour
 ½ ts Lite salt or less
 1 c White flour
 1 3/4 c Buttermilk(low fat)
 ½ c Oat meal(quick cooking)
 1 ea Egg white
 ¼ c Brown sugar
  c Sunflower seeds
 1 tb Orange peel finely shredded
 1 tb Wheat germ
 2 ts Baking powder
 1 ts Honey
 ½ ts Baking soda
 1 tb Sunflower seeds for garnish

Baked in a round casserole dish and garnished on the top with sunflowerseeds, this bread is a winner!Preheat the oven to 350.

In a large bowl combine flours, oatmeal, brownsugar, orange peel, baking powder, baking soda and light salt until wellblended.

Add milk and egg white; stir only until ingredients aremoistened.

Fold in the sunflower seeds.

Lightly oil a 1 1/2 Qt.

casseroledish; sprinkle lightly with wheat germ.

Pour batter into prepared dish.

Bake for 50-60 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center of breadcomes out clean.

If necessary, cover loaf with foil during the last 15minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning.

Cool in casserole for 10minutes; turn bread onto wire rack.

Brush top of loaf with 1 teaspoon ofhoney and sprinkle with additional 1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds, ifdesired.
