Scotch Oatmeal Waffles Recipe

?There is no one definitive recipe for Scotch oatmeal waffles. However, they are generally made with a simple batter of flour, oats, milk, and eggs, and then cooked in a waffle iron. Some recipes may also include baking powder, salt, and sugar.

 1 1/2 c Elam's Scotch-style oatmeal
 ¼ c Brown sugar
 2 1/2 ts Baking powder
 ¾ ts Salt
 1 c Milk
 2 Eggs
  c Cooking oil

Combine first 4 ingredients in bowl;mix.Combine and mix milk, eggs and oil.Add liquids to dry ingredients;mix.For each waffle, pour 1/2 of batter (1 1/3 cups) into preheated 9" square waffle iron.Spread over grid at once.Close iron;bake until done and nicely browned.Serve hot with butter and maple syrup,honey, applesauce or preserves.
