Sourdough Cornbread Recipe

Sourdough cornbread is a type of cornbread that is made with sourdough starter instead of yeast. This gives the cornbread a slightly sour taste and a denser texture.

 ½ c Active Sourdough Starter
 ½ c Sour Cream or Yogurt
 2 tb Margarine, Melted
 2 ea Large Eggs, Stirred
 ½ c Cornmeal
 1 c Unbleached Flour
 1 ts Salt
 ½ ts Cream Of Tartar
 1 tb Sugar
 ½ ts Baking Powder

Mix ingredients in the above order, stirring only enough to blend themixture.

Pour into a buttered pan.

Bake in a 375 to 400 degree oven forabout 15 minutes.
