Tipsy Cake (Irish) Recipe

Tipsy cake is a traditional Irish cake that is often served at weddings and other special occasions. It is made with a variety of different alcoholic beverages, including Guinness, whiskey, and Bailey's Irish Cream.  1 lb Stale cake (pound, angel)
 5 fl Sherry
 3 tb Jam
 1 pt Warm custard
 1 x Measure whisky
 10 fl Whipped cream

Break up the cake or cakes and gently mix the jam through the mixturedoes not have to be completely even.

Place in a glass bowl.

Mix sherryand whisky and sprinkle over cake.

Press down lightly.

Pour custard overthe cake, and chill.

Then spoon whipped cream over top and serve.
