Justin Wilson’S Hush Puppies Recipe

There is no one definitive recipe for Justin Wilson's hush puppies. However, a basic hush puppy recipe generally includes cornmeal, flour, salt, baking soda, milk, and eggs. Some recipes also call for additional ingredients such as onion, green onion, garlic, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.

 2 c Cornmeal
 1 c Green onion, finely chopped
 1 Ground cayenne pepper
 ½ ts Soda
 1 c Plain flour
 2 tb Bacon drippings, hot
 2 Eggs, beaten
 ½ c Parsley, finely chopped
 1 ts Baking powder
 ½ ts Garlic powder (to taste)
 1 c Buttermilk
 fat for frying
 1 ts Salt

Combine all dry ingredients.

Add eggs, buttermilk, onions,and oil or bacon drippings.

Mix well.

Drop in deep hot fatby spoonfuls and brown on all sides.

Now, I said above that this makes 48, I've never counted, so Idon't know for sure.

The mainreason why I said 48 is because the program, MenuMaster, won'tlet you past that field unless you tell it something.

People didn't have enough forthemselves to eat let alone feed their dogs, so when the oldhounds started barking from hunger, they would throw pieces offried corn bread to them, yelling, 'Shut up, dog!Hush puppy! .
